The rules
These rules cover everything online in the game: the leaderboards, free roam online, sessions players host and join, shared boats and courses. The game asks you to accept them (ONLINE RULES, I AGREE) before your name goes on the online lists or you play online; if you don't, the rest of the game works offline. In the game they read:
No tolerance for objectionable content or abusive players. Offensive names, chat and boats are filtered; report or block anyone from the PLAYERS page or ONLINE BOATS. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours: the content is removed and the player banned.
What is not allowed
Anywhere online: in driver names, boat names, the text on boats, course names, chat and voice chat.
- sexual content, and anything sexual involving minors;
- hate: slurs, attacks on anyone for their race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability, and extremist symbols and slogans;
- harassment, bullying and threats, and urging anyone to hurt themselves or others;
- other people's personal information;
- pretending to be another player, a moderator or MelDEV;
- spam, advertising and scams;
- cheating: changed games, faked results, and attacks on our servers or on other players' games.
Filtering, reports and blocks
Names, boat names, the text on boats, course names and chat are checked against a list of offensive words, in the game and on our server: a name that fails is refused, and offensive words in chat are hidden. No filter catches everything, so please report what gets past it.
Report or block a player from ONLINE BOATS or, in free roam and online races, from PLAYERS in the menu; the support page has the steps. A block hides that player's chat, boat text, shared boats and courses from you at once.
What we do
- A moderator reviews every report within 24 hours.
- Content that breaks these rules is removed, and the player who made it is banned. A ban removes their results and shared boats and keeps them off the leaderboards, free roam online and shared boats.
- A boat that several players report is hidden for everyone at once until it has been reviewed.
- There is zero tolerance: we may remove content and ban players who break these rules without a warning. To appeal a ban, mail info@meldev.se.
Sessions players host
The player who hosts a session runs it. These rules apply there too, and reports from there reach our moderators the same way.
What you make
You keep what you make. By sharing a boat or laying a course online, you let other players see, build, race and show it in the game. You can take a shared boat down at any time in ONLINE BOATS.
The service
The online features are offered as they are and may change, pause or stop; we may correct or reset the leaderboards. What the game sends and what we keep is on the privacy page. When these rules change, the game asks you to accept the new version.
